Common EV Myths, Resolved

The barriers that stand between drivers and their first electric vehicle (EV) are finally being removed and disproved. Range anxiety, wariness due to their new technology and cost are all worries that don’t have as great of an impact as they used to do, as EV companies are working hard to showcase their benefits. As an EV charging company dedicated to getting everyone driving an electric vehicle as soon as possible, we’re here to help.

Here at Elite Vehicle Charging, our battery storage chargers can be deployed across the country to get everyone connected as quickly as possible. By paying attention to locations that are off-the-grid, we can ensure that these areas don’t get left behind, as there’s no need to connect to the grid with our chargers. There are still myths that exist when it comes to public charging and destination chargers, but we’re here to set the record straight.

They Lack Suitable Range

EV’s are often compared to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles when it comes to charging. Some people expect them to last as long as an ICE car when it has been filled up. The truth is, EV’s don’t need to last that long, because they can be charged up whenever they need without costing as much as petrol. Most new builds now come with home charging points, so even though the range isn’t the same, the charge is provided whenever the car is at home.

Destination charging is still accessible, but more needs to be done in remote locations, and our portable chargers could be the answer. To find out more about our destination chargers, please visit us here.

They Aren’t as Environmentally Friendly as They Make Out to Be

Some people believe that electrically powered vehicles aren’t all that environmentally friendly because their power source comes from coal. It doesn’t matter what energy source powers your electric car; it still omits 50% less carbon emissions than an ICE vehicle. EV’s are a great way to lower your carbon footprint, and with designated ULEV zones in major cities, there are more incentives than before.

There Aren’t Enough Chargers

With apps such as Zap Map, it’s never been easier to find a charging station near you. There are thousands scattered across the country in places such as supermarket and retail store car parks, motorway service stations and restaurants. However, destination charging is lacking in remote locations due to the lack of infrastructure.

Our chargers aim to get everyone across the country connected, no matter their location. Getting connected can be expensive, but with our battery storage chargers, there’s no need to make these unnecessary expenses.

They Take Too Long to Charge

Unless you’re going on a long journey and you need to stop off to charge, EV charging doesn’t take that long in theory. Cars spend around 90% of their time parked, so whilst it’s charging, you can be getting on with other tasks. The most popular location to charge an EV is at home, so you’re not exactly waiting around for it to be charged.

Here at Elite Vehicle Charging, our chargers can be rented out to destinations and events alike, providing incentives for EV drivers to travel to more places without the fear of running out of charge.
